Now

What I'm focused on right now.

What I'm working on

  • Relocation — Recently moved from Phoenix to Michigan for work. Settling into the new environment and using the transition as a chance to reset and refocus on what's next
  • Job search — Actively pursuing ML/AI and Software Engineering roles, with an eye on PM and Planning positions where the right opportunity exists. Targeting companies like Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, and a few others where I have referrals lined up. Focused on Michigan and Texas-based opportunities
  • Air Force Reserves — Working toward joining the Reserves as a next step alongside my civilian career
  • Second Master's degree — Considering an MBA to complement the CS/ML background and open up broader leadership and strategy roles
  • SortaLogic — Writing, building, and thinking in public. Picking this back up after a pause
  • LoL Draft Helper — On pause while I focus on the job search and career transition. The core system is built — team composition profiling, gap analysis, and data-driven pick recommendations powered by 40,000+ matches from the Riot API. Writeups on the design here and here

What I'm reading

  • Designing Data-Intensive Applications — Martin Kleppmann
  • Working through algorithm fundamentals — sharpening the foundations for interviews and system design

What I'm watching

  • Recently finished The Boys, Invincible, and Bloodhounds 2

What I'm thinking about

  • What it means to deliberately architect the next phase of your life — not just taking what comes, but choosing the role, the location, the mission. The job search isn't just about landing an offer; it's about building toward a specific version of the future
  • The tension between specializing deeper in ML/AI and broadening into leadership and strategy. Both paths are real, and an MBA might be the bridge — but only if it serves the work, not the credential
  • A philosophy I try to carry into everything I build, and into how I move through life: I want people's lives to be better after they've interacted with me or my work — not the other way around
